An Upper Peninsula snowmobile driver will be revving his engine and racing in the Winter X Games next month in Aspen, Colorado.
Nineteen-year old Kyle Pallin of Ironwood qualified for the sno-cross event. In the past, X Games officials have only allowed pro drivers to participate in the sno-cross race, but this year eight pro drivers were automatically selected and other spots were open to others, including semi-pro drivers.
One qualifying race was held in Duluth, and Pallin battled 60 other drivers for three spots.
He was sixth or seventh going into the final race, and he pulled off a third place finish to take the last spot for the Winter X Games.
The Winter X Games will be held January 27-29.
