MIDLAND -- (Courtesy of MTU) The Michigan Tech volleyball team fell 3-0 at Northwood today. The Timberwolves (13-10, 10-6 GLIAC) won the three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-22. The Huskies new record is 5-18 overall and 3-13 in league play.
Northwood hit a remarkable .609 percentage in the first set for the 25-14 win. The Timberwolves jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the second set and cruised to the 25-17 decision. Tech held a 22-21 lead in set three before NU won four straight points, putting the match away with two straight kills from Jolyn Timms.
The hosts hit .265 for the match compared to the Huskies’ .060 percentage. Northwood also used a 9-to-4 advantage in total blocks.
Timms finished with a match-high 14 kills for the Timberwolves.
Michigan Tech has one more weekend remaining in its 2010 season. The Huskies will play three matches on the road beginning Friday (Nov. 5) at Wayne State.
