Four members of the Northern Michigan University men’s Nordic ski team were named to the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) all-conference team. The Wildcats placed two members on the first team and two on the second.
George Cartwright and Kevin Cutts were selected to the first team. Named to the second team were Tim Cook and Chris Bowler.
The All-CCSA teams recognized season-long achievement and were based on points given out in each race. The top 20 finishers received Super Tour Points (30-25-21-18-16-15-14, etc.) for each race and the points were added up to get the teams. The top five point-getters made the first team, while the next five were named to the second team.
At the recently concluded CCSA Championships which were held at Al Quaal, Cartwright finished second in the 10K classic (27:09.9) and seventh in the 20K freestyle (51:18.0). Cutts was sixth in the classic race (27:42.5) and third in the freestyle (50:56.4). Cook skated a 28:41.7 in the classic for 21st and was 18th in the freestyle (53:29.2). The final member of the team from NMU was Bowler as he placed eighth in the classic (27:47.0) and 10th in the freestyle (51:31.1).

Christina Gillis and Laura DeWitt were selected to the first team. Named to the second team were Monica Markvardsen and Marie Helen Soderman.

DeWitt placed fourth in the classic (14:45.5). Markvardsen was seventh in the classic (14:59.4) and second in the freestyle race (38:35.9). Soderman skated to a fifth-place finish in the classic (14:58.8) and a ninth-place showing in the freestyle (39:19.1).
