IRON RIVER -- With the Olympic games right around the corner, hometown hero Nick Baumgartner received quite the sendoff from his former school Friday afternoon.

West Iron Public Schools came together for a pep rally to cheer on the Iron River native and wish him luck in Vancouver.

Baumgartner will be competing in the snowboard cross event beginning February 15.

A procession will be held for Baumgartner Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Iron River.
