NEW YORK (AP) — Managers Tony La Russa, Jim Leyland, Joe Torre and Mike Scioscia have been selected for a committee that could recommend expanded instant replay and playoff format changes.

The group was selected by commissioner Bud Selig and also will examine scheduling, umpiring and pace of game. No players or umpires are included.

The committee includes Baltimore president for baseball operations Andy MacPhail, Cleveland general manager Mark Shapiro, Atlanta president John Schuerholz and former Minnesota GM Terry Ryan.

There are four owner representatives: Toronto's Paul Beeston, Philadelphia's Dave Montgomery, Seattle's Chuck Armstrong and St. Louis' Bill DeWitt.

Hall of Famer Frank Robinson and political columnist George Will are on the panel.
