LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The PGA Championship is heading back to Valhalla.

PGA of America president Jim Remy announced Thursday that the 96th PGA championship will be held at the course outside Louisville in August, 2014. Valhalla also will host the Senior PGA in 2011.

Valhalla has hosted the PGA twice before, with both tournaments ending in a playoff. Mark Brooks beat Kenny Perry in 1996 and Tiger Woods knocked off Bob May in a thriller in 2000.

The course also was the site of the U.S. victory over Europe in the Ryder Cup last fall and is one of just three courses in the country to host a Ryder Cup, a PGA Championship and the Senior PGA.

This year's PGA will be held at Hazeltine Golf Club in Chaska, Minn., on Aug. 13-16. Padraig Harrington is the defending champion.
