MARQUETTE -- It has been more than a year since 34-year-old Amy Lynn Tierrablanca was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.

On Friday in Marquette County Circuit Court, Tierrablanca pled guilty to leaving the scene of accident while causing death.

Last February, Tierrablanca was driving a vehicle on County Road 550, which went off the road, hit a snow bank, and rolled over. Her passenger, 21-year-old Michael Tyler Abbott, was killed in the crash. Under the plea agreement, Tierrablanca's first count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death was dismissed.

"What happened here that makes you guilty of the crime alleged in count two?" asked Judge Thomas Solka.

"In February I was driving on County Road 550. I had an accident and it resulted in Michael's death and I left the scene," said Tierrablanca.

Tierrablanca will be sentenced April 5.
