Upper Peninsula native cashes in on Millionaire

NEW YORK, NY -- A former TV6 Sports Reporter walked away with a lot of cash Wednesday on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" a game show that is shown from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday on TV6.

Dave Ellis, originally from Eagle Harbor and now living in East Lansing, won a whopping $68,600 on the game show.  The show was taped last October.  Ellis says he's relieved it finally aired because now he no longer has to keep it a secret.
    
The former sports reporter says the experience is like a roller coaster ride because you wait hours for the thrill, which only last a few minutes.
 
"And I could see myself, but I wasn't the one actually making the words, so almost an out of body experience doing it. But it really was a cool experience to do it in person," said Ellis.

Ellis auditioned nine times in five cities until he was finally offered a slot to go to New York City.
