ESCANABA -- There's a new president and CEO at OSF in Escanaba.

David Lord is taking over from the last CEO, Peter Jennings, who retired after serving in the role for nine years.

Monday was Lord's first official day on the job. He's been with OSF for the past 17 years, serving in a variety of roles from manager of planning and decision support to vice president of operations.

Some of his long-term visions include recruiting new physicians and specialists.

"It's very humbling to be here in my own community and be a part of making a difference in the community where I grew up," said Lord. "So I'm looking forward to the challenges in front of us and looking forward to finding a better way to provide service throughout our community."

Lord says he's excited about the new role and will continue to address the new health care reform issues and what they mean for the community.
