MARQUETTE -- The legal case of a grandmother accused of kidnapping her granddaughter has been sent back to Marquette County District Court.

Fifty-eight-year-old Robin Gay Eggers will plead to a misdemeanor offense, once in district court.

Earlier this month, Eggers took her son's three-year-old daughter to Escanaba. Eggers' son, Jesse Wiggin, was suppose to return the child to the biological mother days earlier, but did not. He was arrested January 4.

The child was with Eggers in Escanaba. She was picked up by police later that day.

Eggers was originally charged with kidnapping, custodial interference. Her next court appearance has not been scheduled.

The charge against Wiggin has been dismissed.
