Minnesota man injured in snowmobile crash

BERGLAND -- A Minnesota man was injured after crashing his snowmobile on Trail 13, 6 miles north of Bergland in Ontonagon County.

According to the Ontonagon County Sheriff's Department, Minnesota resident, 30-year-old Jess McFarland, failed to negotiate a curve, left the trail and struck a bolder at about 1:15 Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Department responded to the scene with their rescue sled and personnel from Sonco Ambulance.  McFarland was removed from the scene and transported by Beacon Ambulance to Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.  

The accident caused extensive injuries to McFarland and minor damage to the snowmobile. The accident is still under investigation.
