Latest news, weather, high school sports for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

MARQUETTE -- The Noquemanon Ski Marathon is just over three weeks away and organizers have packed that weekend with events.

Crews have been out getting the trails in good shape for all of the races. The Noque will have the traditional Marquette General marathon and half marathon races. Added races are the new feature this year, highlighting snow bikes and snow shoes on Sunday, January 27.

"One of the goals for the Noquemanon is to basically have this weekend of the Noquemanon be a Nordic festival for everybody to come into town and have many different options to choose from and be a part of the community and our community to be a part of the race," said race director Nicole Dewald.

The Noque is always looking for volunteers for the aid stations and other areas, and registration is underway. For more information on all of the events for the Noquemanon check out the event's website.
