ONTONAGON -- An Ontonagon man is on probation for nine months for possession of marijuana.

Sixty-three-year-old Jay Wally Kosey was arrested after deputies found containers of processed marijuana in his home and plants growing in his back yard.

He was originally charged with a felony.

Last month Kosey pled guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

“If you screw up, convicted of a crime or something like that, you will get roughly 360 days that's left on the maximum sentence that you'd be incarcerated for,” said Judge Anders Tingstad Jr.

Kosey was also fined $650. The judge gave him credit for serving five days in jail.
