ISHPEMING -- Hundreds of people flocked to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming Saturday to shop for a good cause. It was the second annual Running for a Reason vendor open house.

Each of the 11 vendors donated a percentage of their profits to Running for a Reason. The organization is devoted to helping local families that have suffered tragedies and need help.

This year the donations are divided between the Croley family and the Atkins family which both need help paying hospital bills.

"We're very grateful to our family and friends that have been with us since the beginning of this journey, and we're just very grateful that everybody is coming out to help members of our community," said Angela Kiviniemi, co-organizer.

This year's benefit raised over $3000.

To learn more about the families in need and how you can help, follow Carrie Harvala ~ Running for a Reason on Facebook.

To donate money to the cause, mail a check to "Running for a Reason" at 31100 County Road 581, Ishpeming Township, MI 49849.
