"Blame the Dog" recruited local players and fared well, finishing second in the Illinois Indoor Guts Frisbee Tournament held last weekend. The Appleton Assassins took first, winning two games to none.
Local players included Justin Dudenas and Rudy Tikkanen from Calumet and Ron Blau and Bill Gagnon from Hancock. They were joined by Dave Brown, from Marquette originally, who now lives near Chicago.
Nine five-man teams were present in Illinois, coming from Detroit, Lansing, Chicago, and Wisconsin, with the Boomtown Saints (two-time defending IFT champions) finishing third and perennial top-flight team the Cupola Bandits finishing fourth.
Next on the Guts Frisbee Circuit is Global Guts Weekend, May 26-28, (local tourneys will be held around the nation); the Wisconsin State Championships in New London, June 9-10; the 55th Annual Coca-Cola International Frisbee Tournament in Calumet, July 7-8; the US Nationals in Marquette, August 11-12; and the USGPA North American Championships in Detroit, September 1-2.
