Sunday, October 07, 2012  Don Kelly scored the tying run on a wild pitch in the eighth, then hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth that lifted the Tigers over the Oakland Athletics 5-4 on Sunday for a 2-0 lead in their AL playoff series.

Saturday, October 06, 2012  Verlander held Oakland scoreless after his early slip, and Alex Avila homered in the fifth inning to lift the Tigers over the Athletics 3-1 on Saturday night in the opener of their best-of-five AL Division Series. Verlander allowed three hits in seven innings and matched his postseason high with 11 strikeouts.
