MARQUETTE -- Competitive gamers got together at Northern Michigan University this weekend for the fourth annual Northern Fights Tournament.
NMU's Push Button Receive Combo video game club organizes the event each year. The tournament featured 15 different fighting games, including many mainstream games from the Street Fighter and Tekken series.
Twenty-eight people competed in the two-day tournament. Though it's competitive, players say it's all about having fun.
"Win or lose, I'm for having fun, enjoying these fighting games with people who love fighting games, just trying to build a community of people who enjoy playing fighting games," said Talen Williams, event coordinator.
Push Button Receive Combo meets every Saturday at NMU for some community gaming open to everyone.
