MARQUETTE -- The Lake Superior Community Partnership held their 14th annual service awards Friday night in Marquette. The LSCP is the leading economic development group in the central Upper Peninsula.

Each year at their annual banquet they honor one business and one individual with a distinguished service award. This year's recipients are Cliffs Natural Resources for their job creation and contributions to local schools and hospitals, and Chuck Bergdahl for his many years of service as Marquette County Commissioner and chair of the economic development corporation.

"This year's recipients are well deserved. Cliffs had been long overdue," said LSCP Chairman Dennis Smith. "They've done just a ton of work in the community for us, and Chuck Bergdahl has just spent hundreds of thousands of hours of community service giving back to the community for himself."

The banquet is also one of the LSCP's biggest fund raisers.
