ESCANABA -- It's called "The Way We Worked," and it's a Smithsonian traveling exhibit that has come to Bay College in Escanaba.  It's part of the "Museum on Main Street" project which is a collaboration to bring programs to rural organizations.

The collections include archival accounts on film, as well as historical photographs and objects.  The exhibit traces changes in the workforce and shines a spotlight on how technology and manufacturing has grown.

"Well, I think there's a very strong work ethic in the U.P.; I think many people would agree with that.  And a lot of people can relate to having hard-working conditions and having to work hard to provide for your family," said Library Director, Carolyn Stacey.

The Escanaba Public Library, Bay College, and the Michigan Humanities Council have partnered to bring the free exhibit to Escanaba.

It's on display until March 28.
