Michigan State Police say four people died in four separate crashes over the Christmas holiday weekend. Three of those four deaths involved alcohol and the victim not using seatbelts.

Police said the 2012 Lifesaver holiday weekend ran from 6 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 throught midnight on Sunday, December 23, 2012.

Those four lives lost is fewer than last year, when police reported eight fatalities.
