HOUGHTON -- This Saturday night, Michigan Tech's Indian Student Association will celebrate Diwali.
Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, has mythological roots. It's a celebration of good outweighing evil.
Students say this year's theme is Bollywood.
“We have a lot of melodrama, and we have villains and heroes and jumping around, a fight sequence, and it's a mixture of romance and action and comedy and things like that,” said Saagar Vijayaragavan, President of the Indian Student Association.
Students have been celebrating this longstanding tradition at MTU for over 20 years, and students say Diwali is a great way to share their Indian culture with others.
Diwali will be held at the Rozsa Center starting at 5 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's show are $18.
