HOUGHTON -- The Houghton Police Department says due to construction the following streets will be closed to vehicle and foot traffic for trick-or-treating Wednesday. Officials say they want to make sure the streets are as safe as possible.

The following streets will be closed:

South Avenue between Bridge and 4th Street

Douglass Avenue between Bridge and 4th Street

2nd Street between Houghton and Edwards Avenue.

The hours for trick-or-treating are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
