MARQUETTE -- Upper Peninsula Republicans awaited an important phone call Thursday evening from First Lady hopeful, Ann Romney.
Mrs. Romney made a call to the Republican Headquarters in Marquette, as they threw a volunteer appreciation party with Mitt Romney's niece, Ronna.
Ronna was in the Upper Peninsula to campaign for her uncle, where she went from door to door in Marquette, asking for votes.
"A lot of times in the U.P., we feel like we're forgotten because we have a small population. It's very important to have people recognize that the U.P. is very important to the state with the natural resources and such. Governor Romney and the campaign and the Republican Party have been very supportive of us and our efforts up here," said Marquette County Republican Party Chair, Dan Adamini.
At the appreciation party, they gave a special thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time to make the campaigning possible.
