It's the first in a series of classes

ESCANABA -- A healthy cooking class was recently held at Positively in downtown Escanaba. It was hosted by Mary Malnor, the personal chef of Entrees Etc.

A group of busy women, wives and mothers, took part in the event in order to learn how to make healthy, delicious meals. The first class focused on morning meal recipes.

Participating in the event was chiropractor Dr. Melissa Vandermissen. She has an emphasis on nutrition in her practice, and she was there to lend advice on what's delicious and good for the body.

“What I am doing here is I’m just helping with the nutritional content of the meals that she's preparing,” explains Dr. Vandermissen. “They’re just some easy snacks that you can make up and throw in the freezer and the refrigerator. And it only takes a couple of minutes to get these ready for the kids in the morning."

Malnor's next cooking sessions are October 30 and in November.
