MARQUETTE -- The Superiorland Woodturners handcrafted works are on display at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center.

They recently held a reception to open up a gallery of their works. The gallery features a variety of wood types and skill levels. The group formed in 2007 as a way to get skilled wood turners together.

This gallery helps the artists get their work out to the public.

"We live in the Upper Peninsula where we have an abundance of wonderful types of wood. I don't know of any group that appreciates wood more than the Woodturners because we get to see the wood and see how beautiful it is and make something wonderful from it," said Marc of Superiorland Woodturners.

The exhibit will be on display until Nov. 27. They're also planning a demonstration and lecture at the Peter White Public Library on Nov. 5 fromto 8:30 p.m.
