MARQUETTE -- Across the nation many celebrated National Family Health and Fitness Day this Saturday.

Here in the Upper Peninsula, the YMCA and Headstart coupled to bring kids and parents to a health fair at the Y in Marquette. It happens on the last Saturday of September each year. On hand was some karate and different health booths for information on how parents and kids can stay active and healthy and it could be with something as simple as creating an obstacle course in the house.

"We're really focusing on the youngest kids today, ages 0 to 8, because we want families to know that they don't have to participate in organized sports to be active and healthy with their kids," said Headstart Education Coordinator Corey Holcomb.

the health fair wrapped up around noon.
