HOUGHTON -- A Hancock man involved in a Chassell meth lab case was sentenced in Houghton County Circuit Court on Monday.
Twenty-one-year-old Kendall Clifton will serve one year in the Houghton County Jail with 63 days already served. Last month Clifton pled guilty to attempted possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine.
According to the deal, Clifton's first two charges of delivering meth and operating a meth lab were dismissed. While in court on Monday, Clifton admitted to a substance abuse problem.
"I just want to start off by saying that I do have remorse and that I am sorry," said Clifton. "I am a good person, and I do have a good heart. I just have a drug addiction and struggle with it. Everything that I've ever been in trouble for has been due to alcohol and drugs."
Based on the plea agreement, Clifton is required to testify against all of the other individuals involved in the meth lab case if it goes to trial.
