HANCOCK -- The old Hancock Middle School front lawn was filled with artists all Wednesday afternoon.
Community members dressed in all white on Wednesday, as they painted chairs for the Copper Harbor Community Arts Center. The project was organized by Mary Wright, who has worked with artists all over the state.
The group is painting the chairs white at first, and then on Saturday they're decorating them in any way they want. The newly-painted chairs will be put into the art center's ballroom.
"Art is all about expressing yourself, having fun, and doing things differently," said Wright. "And it raises our spirits, I think, with the positivity. The endorphins are created when you're seeing beautiful things and fun things."
The group is inviting anyone to come decorate the chairs this Saturday afternoon at the old Hancock Middle School.
