GLADSTONE -- Gladstone Public Safety officials responded to an electrical fire on Monday night.

At around 8:43 p.m. officers arrived to a fire that had burned itself out, leaving minor fire damage on the wall. They determined that the cause of the fire was an overloaded electrical outlet.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family as the power was cut to the residence. Authorities say that the home is insured.
