ISHPEMING -- The Ishpeming-Negaunee NICE adult education program will soon be offering a GED prep class for nearby residents.

The class helps anyone planning to take the GED test better prepare for the material with a teacher at Saint John Church in Ishpeming. The GED test involves five separate tests in five subjects including reading, writing, social studies, math, and science.

Each test costs $50, but if you take the prep class at Saint John Church, the state will pay your costs.

"It's good for somebody who knows what he or she is doing to explain things as they're going along and perhaps slow things down," said GED prep teacher, Kitty Kososki. "If, for instance, somebody is having trouble with fractions, books may not necessarily be all that is needed to understand them."

If you are interested in registering for the GED prep class, call (906) 475-4173.
