ESCANABA -- The 37th Annual U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Show will be roaring to life at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba Friday.
Antique steam engines, tractors, and farm machinery from the late 1800s up to the modern era will be on display.
Preparations were underway Thursday, and organizers say up to 3,000 people usually visit each day. One of the attractions is a 1907 Stanley Steamer, which is an old steam car that you can watch in action during the show.
"It's history, like, I guess you don't find anymore. And especially if you have young people, they should come out here and they can learn how it used to work and how it used to be. How we had to work very hard to what we did," said show organizer Skip DuFour.
The show starts Friday at 1 p.m. and continues Saturday and Sunday, wrapping up Monday at 5 p.m.
