MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Area Public School District is looking for more nominees to be on their Pendill Wall of Excellence at Marquette Senior High School.

The Pendill Wall honors graduates from the Marquette Public School District that have excelled in their career field and have become a betterment to mankind through their profession. There are currently five past recipients since the wall was created in 2005.

Each winner receives a plaque and public recognition for their accomplishments. There have been very few nominees for the award recently, and the school is looking for more. In the future they hope to have one or two recipients a year.

"We know that there are outstanding doctors, lawyers, Indian Chiefs so to speak, that can be recognized for their contribution to the community and to the betterment of mankind as requested by the Pendill Wall," said Education Foundation Committee member Robert Mercure.

The deadline for nominations is September 14. If you are interested in nominating somebody for the Pendill Wall, send information to lshawhan@mapsnet.org or call (906) 225-4200.
