HOUGHTON -- In Houghton, Michigan Tech is hustling and bustling again. Students are moving into their dorms, and for freshman, it might be a confusing process, but Michigan Tech has it covered. Volunteers are helping with a 30- minute unload process. Families park and a group of volunteers go out with dollies and help them move in.
Volunteers escort them all the way to their new room.
"It was actually really smooth. I was impressed. It didn't take 30 minutes, it only took, like, 10 minutes," said Thomas Love, an incoming freshman. "And it's nice to see how the students volunteered to help out, they're not getting paid, so it was great and everyone's nice and friendly."
Freshmen will be busy this week with orientation. Classes start Tuesday after Labor Day.
