MARQUETTE -- People flocked to Marquette Mountain Sunday for some fun and to support a good cause.

It was the King of the Mountain fundraiser to benefit the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, or UPAWS. The event was organized by Double Trouble DJs and features music on two stages all day long as an informal battle of the bands--one for deejays and another for live bands. There was also a 'Serve It Up' volleyball tournament. Other's enjoyed a variety of games like mini-golf.

And the giant slip 'n' slide was a big hit.

"It's wonderful to see all the young people come out," said Rachel Holman, a UPAWS supervisor. "I've had a lot of people come up to the booth and ask me questions about the animals we have there; a lot of interest, a lot of care showing. It's pretty amazing. It's a lot of fun."

The fundraiser ended at midnight and so far has raised more than $700 for UPAWS.
