MARQUETTE -- Art On the Rocks organizers and artists spent the Friday getting set for the show which will begin Saturday. This year the art show will be held in Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.

More than 180 artist booths will be set up. Both local and nationally recognized artists will have their work judged. This is the 55th year for Art On the Rocks.

"This is your one chance in the year to get something really unique. These artists are coming to you, and it's a great chance to see things you've never seen before in every available media," said Jack Deo of the Lake Superior Art Association.

The LSSA will also be selling t-shirts of the event as a fundraiser. The artists will be set up by 9 a.m. More than 15,000 people are expected to come and check out the art. $3,500 worth of prize money will be awarded.
