ESCANABA -- Bay College in Escanaba is in the planning phase right now for a construction project that will start in 2013. The plan is to complete a remodel of the largest lecture hall on campus. There will also be improvements made to nursing program equipment. Two nursing labs and a simulation center will look more like a mini hospital.
"Well, the human mannequin, or the human simulation equipment, would all be computer controlled. So they actually can replicate any medical condition that a human has. The mannequin could have a stroke or a seizure, and the students have to interact with them just like they would a real live patient," said Kim Carne, Bay College Executive Director for Advancement.
The project will push forward because of a bill signed by Governor Snyder that will give the campus $750,000.
The advancements will be fully operational for classes in the fall of 2013.
