SAWYER -- Forsyth Township Police are investigating several overnight attempted break-ins and vandalism at KI Sawyer.  Five homes were disturbed around 3:30 Monday morning on Provider and Albatross Streets.

Police say it appears that a group of young adults broke into a garage, pulled a fence down, broke several door and window screens, and took several items from vehicles, like gas cans and medication.  The incidents add to nearly two dozen similar cases in the township in recent weeks.

"Sooner or later we're going to catch them.  And if you look back at what happened in Marquette city, guy entered a house and ended up getting shot. People are getting fed up having their stuff taken, and sooner or later somebody's going to end up seriously hurt or dead. You start entering people's homes, their castles, and they're going to defend them," said Forsyth Township Chief of Police, Tim Rector.

Authorities want to also remind homeowners to lock their doors, and keep valuables out of sight in vehicles.
