HARVEY -- Trees are being cleared to make way for construction on the bike trail in Harvey. It's all a part of MDOT's reconstruction project on M-28 and US-41.

The bike trail is being reconstructed near the Welcome Center to increase the distance from the road. The construction is being done by BACCO Construction out of Iron Mountain. The new trail will be completed after a few weeks, and then the old trail will be torn up.

The $6.5 million roadway reconstruction project is scheduled to be completed by this October.
