GWINN -- The Gwinn School District is staring at a 1.3 million dollar budget deficit for the coming school year. That means cuts of nine teachers and five para-professionals and moving sixth grade into the middle school complex for the coming school year.
According to Superintendent Kim Van Drese right now this is just a proposal. She says the Gwinn schools will have less students and that means a loss of $172,000 in foundation grant money. Van Drese also says they could lose another 32 students in the 2013-2014 school year.
The Gwinn School Board will have a budget work session on April 27 and a special board meeting April 30 to address the budget deficit.
