Houghton City Police say it turned out to be harmless. They declined to reveal the contents of the package. Police said more information may be released Monday.

A suspicious package was found on the premises of Isle Royale Park Headquarters in Houghton on Friday.
It happened around 11 a.m. after a routine mail delivery. The package was discovered while employees were in the process of sorting the mail.
The suspicious item was isolated and the local post office and Houghton Police Department were alerted.
"Because of the protocol for the federal government and for these types of situations, the state police were notified and the state police personnel who handle these types of situations are in route to the site," said Keith Butler, Chief Facility Manager.
Michigan State Police are on their way from Grayling. As a precaution, the park was closed to the public, workers were sent home, and the site was secured.
