HANCOCK -- Tuesday was the first day of spring which, this year, means it's time to hang up those skis and snowboards.
Mont Ripley is officially closed for the season, and with only 50 percent of the hill covered in snow, it's starting to melt quickly with the strong sunshine.
The ski hill says even though this winter was a little challenging, they had a 94-day season, which is pretty close to their average of 106 days.
"When the snow did finally come, we were busy. It's a hard sell to let people know the conditions are great with our snowmaking. With the technology in snowmaking and grooming, we can lay down a really good product with just cold weather," said Hill General Manager, Nick Sirdenis.
Even though the season is over, the Mont Ripley team is working hard to look over their equipment to make sure everything is ready for next season. They're also planning on expanding the ski and rental shop.
