BARK RIVER -- St. Patrick's Day is Saturday, and if you're looking for a unique Irish gift, you don't have to travel overseas or even to a big city.

Ten Mile Creek Forge, Pottery and Lighting is a gift shop located in Bark River.  The shop is owned by Maureen Potvin, who is part Irish herself.

Potvin regularly orders unique gifts from Ireland to bring to her shop.  There's perfume from Ireland and silver Irish jewelry.  You can even find bracelets woven from metal.  Potvin says her shop is a warm country getaway from busy stores in the city.

"As I listened to Irish music, I just learned so much about the Irish philosophy," said Potvin.  "I especially love the Irish because they've been through so much over the years.  They just have this spirit that, you know, can't be put down."

You can visit her shop all year-round.

The gift shop is more than an Irish-Celtic store.  You can also find the work of local juried artists there as well.
