MARQUETTE -- It was a one stop shop on safety for kids at Bothwell Middle School in Marquette on Friday morning.
Fifth through eighth graders got a chance to check their blood pressure, brush up on water safety or even bust a move at a student health fair held at the school.
The goal of the event was to get students learning about safety, hopefully helping them make wise decisions about their future.
Fifteen booths were made up of professionals from the community, and organizers say they're hoping the added touch helps the students absorb the important messages.
"Bringing community members in to be part of the education in our building really gives us a lot more weight to what we're teaching," said Guidance Counselor Lesley Addison. "It helps the kids see this isn't just a school thing. This is something that helps them be more successful in life in general."
This was only the second fair that's been held at the school, and organizers plan to host additional fairs in the future.
