MARQUETTE -- The owner of the Backroom Obsessions store in Marquette and Houghton was in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
Michael Jestila appeared in Marquette County District Court on two charges of possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute them.
The substances in question is the controversial bath salts that were recently added to the Michigan banned substances list.
After hearing testimony, Judge Kangas decided the bath salts, referred to as White Surge, were sample products and were not for distribution.
A future court date has been set for March 2.
