Sunday will be the first day in a new warm trend. We have high pressure centered around Lower Michigan that is bringing us calm and sunny conditions as well as a light southwesterly flow that will strengthen through Tuesday, bringing warmer temperatures.
Sunday's highs will be in the 30s. A few spots out west will approach 40. Skies will see plenty of sunshine, but a few clouds will be passing by here and there, especially out east in the daytime. Winds will be near calm all afternoon and evening.
Despite warmer air in the daytime, Sunday night's lows will be quite cold. Clear skies will greatly enhance radiational cooling and make lows fall into the 10s mostly. It will be a bit warmer along Lake Michigan and colder inland toward Wisconsin.
Monday's highs will be a bit warmer reaching into the upper 30s. Winds will pick up a little, but remain relatively light out of the southwest. Skies will be very sunny again, but clouding up from west to east starting in the afternoon. High pressure will be moving away and a low pressure system will make it's way toward the U.P.
That low pressure system will bringing some snow all day Tuesday until it moves past. Then Wednesday should see some lingering lake effect snowfall and the start of incoming colder air. The rest of the week may also see a few flurries.
This should help us climb back up a bit toward our average snowfall. Check out how far below average we are for snowfall here, and see how far above average we are for temperatures.
