MARQUETTE -- The 24th annual Glacier Glide at Presque Isle was a success. Hundreds flocked to the art show.
More than 30 adult artists from around Marquette had art works featured outside and some 100 children had their art works featured inside the Presque Isle Pavilion. Admirers would vote for their favorites and cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
The art show is a fun alternative for spectators in town for the sled dog races.
"It's always a fun event because you get to walk or ski around the island and get a lot of laughs, too. Some of the works are very funny, very original," said Jack Deo, member of the Lake Superior Art Association.
The annual event takes place on the same weekend as the UP 200 and Midnight Run.
