A little snow for the weekend

Well, the talk of the town is all about sled dog racing and the different course for this year's .. 200 and Midnight Run.

Snowfall is well below normal (more than a foot below normal in Marquette, in fact), but it looks like the track conditions could be worse. We're seeing a little bit of snow this weekend to help those mushers.

Saturday's highs will be seasonal in the 20s. A light northerly wind will add only a mild chill and some lake effect snow showers. Accumulations should be less than one inch throughout the day for the central counties near Lake Superior. All around, skies should be mostly cloudy, but clearing up later.

Saturday night should see only a few lingering clouds with winds lightening up and shifting to a more westerly flow. Lows should be in the 10s, but colder inland approaching 0.

Sunday will see highs warming up yet again. Temperatures will reach into the mid 30s. Winds will be light out of the southwest. Skies should be mostly sunny.

Sunday night will see only a few clouds with lows around 20.

The rest of the week will see a few more days of above average temperatures and only a little bit of snow. Join me tonight on the Weekend Late News to hear more forecast details or find me, Dustin Bonk TV6, on Facebook.
