LAC LA BELLE -- A 32-year-old Lincoln, Illinois man died Friday night from a snowmobile accident.

According to the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Department, David McEntire was traveling north on trial three, near Delaware, with six other machines when he lost control of the sled and struck a tree.

Officials say the group McEntire was traveling with did not witness the accident, and drivers from behind were the ones who found him.

McEntire was transported to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is still under investigation.
