LAKE LINDEN -- It's time to put on those dancing shoes.  The Keweenaw Social Dance is a dance studio that recently opened in Lake Linden. Its mission is to offer lessons and other activities for people in the area.

From swing to the tango, dancing is their specialty, and they want to give everyone the opportunity to learn something new and exciting.

"When I grew up, there wasn't a whole lot to do and there weren't a lot of positive aspects to the community where you could just go out and do certain things," said Charles Hill, dance instructor.  "There wasn't anything that promoted that big social aspect.  Dancing is good for your positive self image."

Social dance says it's more like a community or group of friends learning how to dance together.

They welcome people of all ages, and dance lessons are taught based on skill level.  Renovations are still being made to the downstairs theatre.

The studio hopes to offer a variety of entertainment, like bands and socials, in the future.
