MARQUETTE -- The construction continues for the soon-to-be Hampton Inn at Founder's Landing.

The mild weather has been a huge help with the building of the lakefront hotel, and construction is further along than the architects thought it would be. The outside framing is almost complete, and workers are starting to focus on the inside of the hotel.
    
All of the construction is expected to be completed by mid-May of this year.

"This is just the next piece of the development of the whole Founder's Landing area.  And the condos are moving along well, and the hotel will be open this summer, and we want to get started on the rest of the commercial development within the next year," said architect, Barry Polzin.

Construction on the hotel began in June 2010.
    
The new Hampton Inn is expected to be up and running by this summer.
